Joining this movement is as simple as praying the below prayer, and it is written with the following audiences in mind:
- Those receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior for the first time;
- Those returning or rededicating their life to Jesus;
- And those who are living out their faith in Jesus and want to be apart of this movement!
Heavenly Father, Lord God Almighty, my Creator and Redeemer, thank you for loving me. I humbly come to you to confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, and with this confession, I believe that I will be saved as it says in Roman 10:9-10. Your word also says in 1 John 1:9 that if I confess my sins to You, that You will be faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. So, I ask for forgiveness of my sin, and I thank You for cleansing me.
I ask, according to Ezekiel 36:26-27, that You give me a new heart and a new spirit, and You will remove the heart of stone from my flesh and give me a heart of flesh. You will place Your Spirit inside of me and cause me to walk in Your statues and be careful to obey Your rules. I invite You to fill me with Your Holy Spirit who will help me in my weakness (Romans 8:26). Your word says in John 14:15-16 that if I keep Your commandments, You will send me a Helper to be with me forever. Thank you for Your Holy Spirit.
Heavenly Father, it is my desire to live a life set apart for You, to be as Your word says in 1 Peter 1:14-16, as obedient children, and not conformed to the passions of my former ignorance, but as You are holy may I also be holy in my conduct since it is written that "you shall be holy for I am holy."
As 1 Peter 2:9 proclaims, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness and into His marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." Thank you for choosing me and adopting me into Your great nation. Thank You for showing me mercy. May I proclaim the excellencies of You all the days of my life!
Lastly, but not finally, 1 Peter 2:21 reminds me, "For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in His steps." I pray that Your Holy Spirit, leads me, guides me and helps me to follow in Jesus' steps and no one else's. May Your Spirit help me to live a life of righteousness and if I ever get off track, may Your Spirit lead me to repentance and back to Your loving arms.
I desire to know You and Your word; help me to draw close to You. May I live a life dedicated to You and Your will for my life. I pray this in Your son Jesus Christ's name, amen!
